Why do we give Paramotor training? |
The reason why we train people in this sport is because we only want knowledgeable pilots in the sky that respect rules and regulations and can fly in a responsible and safe way. Our sport can only exist if we respect the community we live in. |
What do we offer? |
1) Full Paramotor course from absolute beginner to qualified pilot 2) Upgrade course from paragliding or other airsport to Paramotor |
Where do we give lessons / instructions? |
Theory lessons are given in classroom in Al Jazirah aviation club in Ras Al Khaymah, where we can concentrate on engine build and safety, airspace regulations and weather lectures. |
What is included in the training, and how long does it take? |
The course consists of the full PPGio syllabus, and covers from airspace knowledge over weather, basics of air navigation and of course equipment knowledge and practice so you can become a knowledgeable confident pilot. By the end of the course, you will have done between 10 to 20 individual flights. Depending on your level of expertise, a full course takes typically 5 – 10 full days but this is spread over a schedule that we agree upon. |

What are speed and height limitations of Paramotoring? |
A Paramotor flies at an AIR speed of between 25 and 60 km/hour depending on wing type, wing loading and settings, the actual GROUND speed depends on the wind conditions. Paramotor equipment that is suited for your height and weight can take you up quite high (to more than 3000m), but of course actual allowed flying height is limited under the airspace laws and regulations. |
What weather conditions are “flyable”? |
Flyable weather for Paramotor means: · From sunrise until max. 3 hours after sunrise, from 2 hours before sunset until sunset (during mid-day weather is typically too turbulent to fly comfortably) · Wind speed needs to be from 0 up to 10 knots (or +-20 km/h) max. · Clear visibility (of course) & no rain :-) |
What about licenses? |
Since Paramotoring is not yet officially regulated in the UAE, there is no official recognized license for the sport for this country for the moment. Since we are active members of the team that is setting up a worldwide standard for Paramotor licensing - PPGio -, successful students will be able to get the PPGio license once it is up and running. |
And insurance? |
Since Paramotoring is an unregulated sport, it is difficult to obtain 3rd party insurance in this part of the world. Own risks can be integrated in insurance policies that you may already have. |
How much money do I need to spend on training? |
Contact us for tailor made training fees, this depends on your level of experience and whether you already own equipment, conditions can be discussed and agreed upon. If you do not own equipment, the training fee includes the use of ALL training material. Not only helmet, glider, harness and so on but also the use of the Paramotor, fuel and wear & tear! We do not put limits on time or hours spend on training, so we take whatever time it takes to get you in the air in a safe manner. Unless you really can not get the hang of it, of course! |
